Saucony Triumph ISO

****DISCLAIMER: everyone's feet are shaped differently, and because I say that this shoe works or doesn't work for me, doesn't mean that it'll work for you. I intend on telling you about the structure and feel of the shoe and giving my opinion. Take it as you may.****

Saucony Triumph ISO:

Category: Neutral/High Cushioning

Fit: Mostly similar to the standard Saucony fit, (not too snug throughout), however this Triumph does hold the foot a little better in the heel and midfoot.

Cushioning: Soft! I thought Saucony's powergrid cushioning was soft. The new PWRGRID+ cushioning is a lot softer.

Heel to toe drop: 8 mm

Weight: 9 oz

Price: $150

Comparable shoes: Adidas Energy Boost, Brooks Glycerin, Asics Nimbus

Company says: The Triumph delivers the plushest, most cushioned running experience we have ever created. The revolutionary ISOFIT upper morphs to your foot for a sock like feel, providing superior comfort and allowing the shoe to move in perfect harmony with the foot. In the midsole, PWRGRID+, provides 20% more cushioning than the previous version for enhanced impact protection and improved durability. All of this technology is engineered into the shoe while maintaining fluid transitions and minimizing weight. At just 9 oz, the Triumph is engineered to make you want to run.

I say: One of my past shoes has been the Saucony Triumph 11. I didn't mind the shoe, I had some troubles with arch rubbing my foot and comfort-wise, I thought the cushioning could have been softer. The new Triumph ISO has improved on these qualities. The cushioning is much softer, plusher as Saucony describes it, and feels much better on the take off and landing. The fit is improved as well. Like I have said a few times, Saucony has a signature loose fit, and the Triumph still maintains the loose fit in most of the shoe, however, the way the shoe holds the ankle is a much better feel and the heel cup is a great feeling as well. For those previous Triumph wearers, the shoe maintains the bits and pieces that made it shine while improving those that were not the best. For those runners who have not been in the triumph before, the shoe is phenomenal and can be for everyone. Love the update.

Looks a lot sharper too!
P.S. Those who wear the Saucony Hurricane, look ahead to January 1st when the Hurricane gets updated to the ISOFIT.
