Nike Pegasus 31

Nike Pegasus 31:

Fit: Compared to the past few models of the Pegasus, the 31 has a more narrow fit with the midfoot and heel hugging more than previous models

Cushioning: Soft, but not too soft. Much firmer in heel than past and still fairly soft in the forefoot. Plush like feel overall. 

Heel to toe drop: 10 mm

Weight: 8.6 oz

I say: The Nike Pegasus is a shoe for the history books, literally. Being one of the oldest shoes on the market today with 31 years in the book, there has been many many years of technology and work put into this shoe to have it stay around as long as it has. I was in the Pegasus 29 two years ago, and did not mind the shoe then, I actually thought it was overly soft and just wore it for a kick-around shoe. The new 31 has updated the cushioning to the Zoom Air cushion, which is firmer and provides a sturdier feel to the shoe. I also like the toe box feel, it is not as wide as it used to be, which previous Pegasus-wearers should be aware of, but it gives a hug like feel to the front of the foot. Still extremely light, it gives the feet the feeling of being free with some cushion for comfort. For the price, which is one of the cheapest high end shoes today, the Pegasus is a shoe I would recommend to runners of any age level or experience.
