****DISCLAIMER: everyone's feet are shaped differently, and because I say that this shoe works or doesn't work for me, doesn't mean that it'll work for you. I intend on telling you about the structure and feel of the shoe and giving my opinion. Take it as you may.*** Nike Pegasus 32 Category: Neutral Fit: Hugs the foot more around the midfoot/heel more than it used to be, the toe box still provides a nice and roomy feel Cushioning: Stiffer than it used to be, soft in the heel still. Heel to toe drop: 10 mm Weight: 8.4 oz Price: $110 Comparable shoes: Saucony Ride, Brooks Ghost, Asics Cumulus Company says: The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 32 Women's Running Shoe delivers highly responsive cushioning and lightweight support to help you find your fastest run. I say: As I am currently running in the Nike Vomero 10, the Pegasus 32 felt very familiar on my feet. However, this update stiffened up the cushioning just a bit, and wow. This shoe...

Relay Iowa 2015

Image
Recently, I ran one of the most fun runs of my life. It began June 5th and finished on June 7th, and voyaged across the state of Iowa. Similar to the RAGNAR series, the Relay Iowa run is a relay race with teams up to 12 runner/walkers. Some of the biggest differences however with this relay and RAGNAR are: you do not have to run set distances, this run is much farther with this past year being 341 miles, and its a little bit more relaxed, which is a good thing. So here is my story/stories from this adventure that I was lucky enough to embark on. ( I will say that this is going to be quite the long post, as there are quite the stories from the event. If you follow my  facebook page , you may have seen the posts from the few days) 3 days, 60 hours, 339  341 miles, a helluva lot of hills, so many little cities that I will never remember their names, and countless new friends later, my team, The Dubuques of Hazard made it from Sioux City to Dubuque, Iowa. As you can see to ...

Weekly Update!

Guys, I am sorry that I take so much time off between posts. As I am currently in a different city, I am having a hard time doing shoe reviews and such, but I promise that as soon as I am able to, I will review some new shoes. I just bought a new pair of Nike Vomero 10s and I am pumped to get running in them again. A little over a week ago, I ran a super fun run called Relay Iowa. Be on the look out for my post about it. It will be a little longer than usual, but that is only to give you all the stories and memories from the 3-day trip. A sparknotes edition, it was a blast and I am looking forward to creating a team for next year. I will update the calendar. I promise. I have to go and find the information and such, but I will have it done by Sunday. Keep an eye out for that. Again, sorry about my disappearance again. I will be sharing some new information with everyone as soon as I can. Thank you for sticking around! Kelsey

An Update!

Wow. I am truly sorry... I have disappeared for about a two weeks now, and I apologize for that.  That is what happens during finals week to a college student and when that student moves to a new town and tries to organize everything. It has been a CRAZY week for me, and a couple busy weekends for racing! Again, I will be fixing up the calendar either tonight or tomorrow and posting the results and new races that I have found recently. As a reminder, sign up to follow my blog! Remember, those who follow me will be entered into a drawing for some awesome running things. So why not? Even if you dont read the emails, what does it hurt to enter a contest? Well stay tuned for some more posts coming up, I have a few ideas in mind for a few new things, but until then, see ya soon! Kelsey

An update on things 4/29!

So this weekend has been a busy one. With a few major races from this past weekend, I am sure people were busy! I know I was! Just a snidbit from this weekend, we had the Linn-Mar Growl Prowl, Y2Y, and The Hyvee Road Race At Drake. I competed in the Y2Y, and I had a lot of fun! You can see my review of it  here!  I mean the race did not go as well as I wanted for myself, as I severly strained my toe and could not put pressure on my foot. I finished the race, but was 10 mins slower than my predicted time. Oh what fun that was, but dont get me wrong! The race was a blast! I am excited for next year! As for this weekend's races, we have quite a few! Girls on the run 5k, Cornbelt Running Club 24 hr Run, Nacho Ordinary 5k, Cuba City Family Fun Run 5k, Prairie Du Chien Half Marathon & 5k, and the Red Shoe Run! I hope everyone takes advantage of these fun, local races! I may go down and try to run the 5k at the red shoe run! So maybe I will see y...

Y2Y Time Prediction Race

Image
Race Date: April 26th, 2015 Location: Cedar Rapids, IA Race Length: 8 Miles Website: http://corridorrunning.com/race-event/y2y-2015-2/ Me on the left, around approx. 4 miles.  This year, as a substitute for the past Mall to Mall race, a new race was created with the same concept as the old race, predict your time and if you guess the closest to your finishing time, you win. However, as Westdale mall in Cedar Rapids is no longer there, race director, Mark Powers utilized local YMCAs and the running trail in town to create a brand new, wonderful race.  The one nice thing about this race is that, although long, this race is open for any ability. As long as you can guess accurately on how long it will take you, you have a chance for winning. Yes, now 8 miles is long, however on a trail system that many local runners and walkers are used to, the 8 miles feels more like 5 or 6. I am not kidding. Things seemed to fly by. I really enjoyed that aspect. Also,...
