Saucony Guide 9

Category: Stability

Fit: Roomy throughout, a little more snug in midfoot, but very similar fit compared to the last model.

Cushioning: Softer! The addition of the EVERUN makes the feeling much more softer than the earlier model and gives it a lighter feel.

Heel to toe drop: 8 mm

Weight: 8.2 oz

Price: $120

Comparable shoes: Asics 2000, Brooks Ravenna

Company says: The Guide 9 is back at it again, delivering a plush and supportive ride to take you all the way to the finish line, and beyond. It features EVERUN, the latest in cushioning construction and material innovation. EVERUN takes a dramatically more lively and responsive foam cushioning material and brings it closer to your foot than ever before, which means more bang for your running buck. It’s what we call Topsole construction, and it’s changing the game in a big way. We think you’d agree, you should get your feet on this stuff!
I say: The new Guide 9 has a really nice feel to it. Honestly, I thought that it felt much softer than the previous model and it feels much lighter too, even though it is only .2 oz lighter than last year's shoe. The fit is nice as well, its like a glove, but nothing that is too constricting or tight. I would recommend this shoe for those who need just a little bit of stability or for neutral runners who feel that they could use a little extra for those long runs. If you're interested, stop in your local running store and try a pair on!
